Welcome to Empowered Bible Studies

Bible study is essential to our Christian walk. As we study God's Word, our personal relationship with God grows deeper and deeper. It empowers us to live for the Lord in every aspect of our lives. This is what has inspired me to do an online Bible study.

Many years ago my husband introduced me to a commentary on the book of Colossians and I was so blessed as the Scripture came to life before my very eyes. Since that day we have developed an extensive library and enjoy studying God's Word.

I have prepared some Bible studies that I would like to share with you. My prayer is that they will bless you as much as they have blessed me in preparing them. I pray your life is touched and that it would inspire you to live every moment of every day for Christ.

Run or Ruin the Race - Your Choice!

The Christian life is often described as a race.  In Hebrews 12:1-2 it says ... "let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith..."

The problem we find is that in running the race we often find things don't always go so smooth, do they and we find ourselves and our circumstances in ruin.

The main reason for this is that we don't do what the verse says; 'fixing our eyes on Jesus'!  When we try to run the race on our own strength and take our eyes off Jesus Christ, our lives can take a wrong turn. Notice that the difference between 'Run' and 'Ruin' is the letter I.  My friend we need to keep our eyes on Jesus in order to run the race well and be able to hear Christ say in the end 'Well done good and faithful servant'!

In the beginning Adam and Eve kept their eyes on God but then Satan deceived them and they looked at themselves instead of God.  An interesting fact is that the pronoun I did not come into their vocabulary until after the fall of man.

My friend,  Proverbs 3: 5-6 'Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him, and he will direct your path'.

When we keep our eyes on Jesus Christ we will be able to run the race according to His plan and purpose in our lives.  Let us run with endurance my friend the race that is set before us as we fix our eyes on Jesus Christ the author and perfecter of our faith.  God Bless
