Welcome to Empowered Bible Studies

Bible study is essential to our Christian walk. As we study God's Word, our personal relationship with God grows deeper and deeper. It empowers us to live for the Lord in every aspect of our lives. This is what has inspired me to do an online Bible study.

Many years ago my husband introduced me to a commentary on the book of Colossians and I was so blessed as the Scripture came to life before my very eyes. Since that day we have developed an extensive library and enjoy studying God's Word.

I have prepared some Bible studies that I would like to share with you. My prayer is that they will bless you as much as they have blessed me in preparing them. I pray your life is touched and that it would inspire you to live every moment of every day for Christ.

A Test to help us Grow!

John Walvoord said: "A test is given to see if a student can pass, not pass out."

My friend, a trial is a test that is given to us, not to make us pass out, but to help us grow spiritually that we may mature in our Christian walk.
1 Corinthians 10:13 tells us that God will not allow us to go through any more than what we can handle.

Now I know sometimes it feels as though we can't handle any more and we ask God as Paul did with the thorn in his flesh to please take this from me, but God knows how much we can handle and will give us the grace we need to see us through.  He may not want to remove that thorn as with Paul and that is okay. We need to Trust that God is working everything out for our good.

John Walvoord goes on to say: "James gave sound advice on how to score high on every test: One who brings the right attitude to the trial, who understands the advantage of the trial, and who knows where to obtain assistance in the trial will certainly end up on God's honor roll."

If we are able to look beyond the present trial and see the product God intends to produce through our suffering, we will experience joy. When our attitude is right, where we are seeking what God wants to show us and not dwelling on the circumstances themselves, then this is where we will grow spiritually, we will mature in our Christian walk. Live my friend every day to glorify God.
