The most important thing to ask ourselves as we look back would be 'Has our relationship with God grown since the beginning of the year?', 'Have we lived our lives, to the best of our ability with the opportunities God has set before us, for Christ?' Ephesians 2:10 'For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.'
Then as we look forward to the coming of the new year we are reminded of Proverbs 27:1 says 'Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring forth.' We never know when our last day may be or when the rapture will come as it says in Matthew 24:36 'but of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.' Therefore, we need to live a day at a time striving to grow in our relationship with God by studying God's word.
One day we will stand before our Lord and answer to Him as to what we did in His name. Be a faithful servant and hear him say 'Well Done'. Be ready and live each day as unto the Lord. Look to Jesus in 2013!
