Welcome to Empowered Bible Studies

Bible study is essential to our Christian walk. As we study God's Word, our personal relationship with God grows deeper and deeper. It empowers us to live for the Lord in every aspect of our lives. This is what has inspired me to do an online Bible study.

Many years ago my husband introduced me to a commentary on the book of Colossians and I was so blessed as the Scripture came to life before my very eyes. Since that day we have developed an extensive library and enjoy studying God's Word.

I have prepared some Bible studies that I would like to share with you. My prayer is that they will bless you as much as they have blessed me in preparing them. I pray your life is touched and that it would inspire you to live every moment of every day for Christ.

I Can Through Christ

Do you find yourself saying with the Apostle Paul in Romans 7:15 'For I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate.' I know I can identify with this. The Apostle goes on to say in vs 18-19 'For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh. For I have the desire to do what is right, but not the ability to carry it out. For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I keep on doing.' Did you read that 'I have the desire to do what is right, but not the ability to carry it out'!

Our desire is to do what is right, so why is it that we fall short. We find ourselves saying with the Apostle Paul in vs. 24 'O Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death?' Then the answer to this question is in vs 25 'Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord!'

My friend, we all fall short even though our desire is to do right, but as the Apostle Paul shows us, it is Not in our own strength that we will have victory in this area, it IS through Jesus Christ! It is His strength that we can refrain from the flesh! It is through Christ that gives us the power to live as unto The Lord in Every aspect of our lives. When you find yourself in this position, stop and remember this verse: I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. ~ Philippians 4:13
