We are to be ready as it says in Matthew 24:44"Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect."
How are we to be ready for Christ's coming? Scripture tells us we are to be eagerly awaiting that day. 1 Thessalonians 1:10 "and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come."
It's important to keep in mind that the word waiting in the Greek is not some passive activity. Rather, the Greek word for wait is very emphatic which means "eagerly awaiting" -- The Thessalonians felt as if Christ was coming at any moment.
Remember my friend, this is not our home; our home awaits us in Heaven. This life here is temporary; we need to be ready to go home in the twinkling of an eye. We need to be eagerly awaiting that day? Come Lord Jesus!
