Welcome to Empowered Bible Studies

Bible study is essential to our Christian walk. As we study God's Word, our personal relationship with God grows deeper and deeper. It empowers us to live for the Lord in every aspect of our lives. This is what has inspired me to do an online Bible study.

Many years ago my husband introduced me to a commentary on the book of Colossians and I was so blessed as the Scripture came to life before my very eyes. Since that day we have developed an extensive library and enjoy studying God's Word.

I have prepared some Bible studies that I would like to share with you. My prayer is that they will bless you as much as they have blessed me in preparing them. I pray your life is touched and that it would inspire you to live every moment of every day for Christ.

Lord, I'm Listening

How many times is Christ trying to get our attention? How many times do we try to do other things while we are spending time with Him where He doesn't have our full attention? How many times is He waiting for us to seek Him?

Well, one of the things James is telling Christians in James 1:19 is to be swift to hear. As Christians we are to be quick to hear what God has to tell us. That is, we need to be careful listeners making sure that we pay attention in order to get the message right.

Let's say you are studying God's word and have fifty million other things going on in your mind, or fifty million distractions, you are not going to absorb what God is trying to tell you, are you. ~ There are times when I am trying to study, that it seems Satan brings to my mind all the different things I have to do, and I soon find myself re-reading the scripture over and over because it is just not sinking in. We need to be quick to hear what God is trying to tell us.

Matthew 13:9 "He who has ears to hear, let him hear!"

Romans 10:17 "So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."

The Word becomes our most welcome friend, not only because of what it delivers us from but also because of what it delivers us to—glorious, intimate, and loving communion with our heavenly Father.

Lord, help me be a careful listener so that I may know what you are trying to show me!
