Welcome to Empowered Bible Studies

Bible study is essential to our Christian walk. As we study God's Word, our personal relationship with God grows deeper and deeper. It empowers us to live for the Lord in every aspect of our lives. This is what has inspired me to do an online Bible study.

Many years ago my husband introduced me to a commentary on the book of Colossians and I was so blessed as the Scripture came to life before my very eyes. Since that day we have developed an extensive library and enjoy studying God's Word.

I have prepared some Bible studies that I would like to share with you. My prayer is that they will bless you as much as they have blessed me in preparing them. I pray your life is touched and that it would inspire you to live every moment of every day for Christ.

Desire to Know Christ

Repeatedly in the Bible, we see men and women of God drawn into a deeper relationship with God through adversity. It is no question that adversity is difficult, and it usually hits where we are the most vulnerable.

Perhaps the most valuable way we profit from adversity is in the deepening of our relationship with God. In Philippians 3:10 we see an expression of the deepest heart cry - the desire to know Christ in an ever-increasing intimate, personal way.

Philippians 3:10 'I want to know Christ and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death.'

My friend, Through adversity we learn to bow before His sovereignty, to trust His wisdom, and to experience the consolations of His love. We begin to pass from knowing about God (head knowledge) to knowing God himself in a personal and intimate way (heart knowledge). We need to come to a place in our lives where we hunger and thirst for the word of God and progressively grow in our relationship with God.
