Welcome to Empowered Bible Studies

Bible study is essential to our Christian walk. As we study God's Word, our personal relationship with God grows deeper and deeper. It empowers us to live for the Lord in every aspect of our lives. This is what has inspired me to do an online Bible study.

Many years ago my husband introduced me to a commentary on the book of Colossians and I was so blessed as the Scripture came to life before my very eyes. Since that day we have developed an extensive library and enjoy studying God's Word.

I have prepared some Bible studies that I would like to share with you. My prayer is that they will bless you as much as they have blessed me in preparing them. I pray your life is touched and that it would inspire you to live every moment of every day for Christ.

Illustration of God's Protection

There is a wonderful picture of how God protects and guards his children; let me chart this out for you:

First draw a circle and then place a dot with in that circle. You are that dot if you have accepted Jesus Christ as your savior and God is the circle around you. As the circle is around the dot, so God is around each one of His saints; We belong to Him, totally surrounded by Him, protected by Him.

Now place another dot outside of the circle and draw an arrow from that dot to the dot inside the circle. Label that dot: Temptation. Draw another dot outside of the circle and draw an arrow from that dot to the dot inside the circle. Label that dot: Trials and Testing times. Notice that the arrows cannot reach the dot except it goes through the circle, so no temptation, not trial or testing time can reach us except it goes through the permissive will of God first.

As we walk in the center of God’s will, He will not permit Satan to confront us with a temptation too great for us, He will not allow us to go through any trial or testing time that we can’t handle.
How encouraging to know that God sees everything, He is fully surrounding you and will provide us with the necessary faith and spiritual strength to overcome any temptation, and the grace needed to bear that trial. 1 Corinthians 10:13 says: ―No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

I want you to think about the five spiritual incentives that we have gone through over the last few posts. Which of these incentives motivate you the most to walk in holiness? I challenge you this week to take the lessons learned and think about what practical steps you can take to walk in holiness.
