Welcome to Empowered Bible Studies

Bible study is essential to our Christian walk. As we study God's Word, our personal relationship with God grows deeper and deeper. It empowers us to live for the Lord in every aspect of our lives. This is what has inspired me to do an online Bible study.

Many years ago my husband introduced me to a commentary on the book of Colossians and I was so blessed as the Scripture came to life before my very eyes. Since that day we have developed an extensive library and enjoy studying God's Word.

I have prepared some Bible studies that I would like to share with you. My prayer is that they will bless you as much as they have blessed me in preparing them. I pray your life is touched and that it would inspire you to live every moment of every day for Christ.

Faithfulness to God

As we continue our study, Peter provides an example of submission by a godly woman:

1 Peter 3:5-6 "For in this manner, in former times, the holy women who trusted in God also adorned themselves, being submissive to their own husbands, as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, whose daughters you are if you do good and are not afraid with any terror." Sarah was considered the mother of God's people, as Abraham was the father, according to God's covenant promises, Genesis 12:1-3.

Not only was Sarah an example to be followed because of her faithfulness to God and to her husband, but also because she was the mother of all believers, under the old covenant, the mother of the Jewish nation; under the new covenant, the mother of all who believe. Sarah called Abraham ―lord, communicating that she recognized her husband’s God-given position in her life; this was a term of respect.

Like other holy women of the past, Sarah put her hope in God. Ladies, obedience to the Lord honors God as well as our husband. As Christian wives our hope is in God. It is through our relationship with God that makes us the godly women that we were meant to be.
