Welcome to Empowered Bible Studies

Bible study is essential to our Christian walk. As we study God's Word, our personal relationship with God grows deeper and deeper. It empowers us to live for the Lord in every aspect of our lives. This is what has inspired me to do an online Bible study.

Many years ago my husband introduced me to a commentary on the book of Colossians and I was so blessed as the Scripture came to life before my very eyes. Since that day we have developed an extensive library and enjoy studying God's Word.

I have prepared some Bible studies that I would like to share with you. My prayer is that they will bless you as much as they have blessed me in preparing them. I pray your life is touched and that it would inspire you to live every moment of every day for Christ.

Making right choices

In our last post we saw as Joseph faced a crossroad in his life that he made the right decision and fled the ungodly temptations.

Now in Genesis 20 we see where Abraham was at a crossroad and made a wrong choice which ended up putting his wife Sarah in harm’s way. In fear of his own life Abraham lied and told king Abimelech that Sarah was his sister, so not knowing that Sarah was really Abraham's wife, king Abimelech took her for his own. But notice in Genesis 20:6 that God intervened and protected the moral purity of Sarah. You see God had a different plan for Sarah, she was to be the mother of the promised son of Abraham. God did not excuse Abraham's sin, but He did not let that stop Him from intervening in Abimelech's mind to prevent the serious consequences of the sin.

We need to Trust God and continually walk in the spirit and flee from ungodly choices and temptations. Remember that God will not allow the acts of someone else to thwart His plan. As with Sarah, God will not allow someone else's sin to thwart His will for you in your life. He will protect us and guide us as we walk with Him. It is so comforting to know that God does have a purpose and plan for our lives and He is willing to do whatever is necessary to fulfill that plan.
