Welcome to Empowered Bible Studies

Bible study is essential to our Christian walk. As we study God's Word, our personal relationship with God grows deeper and deeper. It empowers us to live for the Lord in every aspect of our lives. This is what has inspired me to do an online Bible study.

Many years ago my husband introduced me to a commentary on the book of Colossians and I was so blessed as the Scripture came to life before my very eyes. Since that day we have developed an extensive library and enjoy studying God's Word.

I have prepared some Bible studies that I would like to share with you. My prayer is that they will bless you as much as they have blessed me in preparing them. I pray your life is touched and that it would inspire you to live every moment of every day for Christ.

God directs our steps

You ever feel as if things 'just happen' to you? Let's see what seemed to 'just happen' to Ruth: "Then she (Ruth) left, and went and gleaned in the field after the reapers. And she happened to come to the part of the field belonging to Boaz, who was of the family of Elimelech." Ruth 2:3

My friend, it was no accident that Ruth happened to come to the part of the field belonging to Boaz. She did not know Boaz nor did she know whose field to whom she was gleaning from and notice in verse two that Naomi did not tell her what fields to glean in either – she just said “go my daughter”. There is no 'by chance' or 'just happened' in the Christian life! This was God directing the steps of Ruth. This was God moving events and guiding the life of Ruth to a very special purpose that will unfold as the 'big picture' comes into focus.

God directs our paths in life just as He did with Ruth. God is constantly working with us (Mark 16:20), in us (Philippians 2:12-13), and for us (Romans 8:28) and accomplishing His gracious purposes. So remember - A man's heart plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps. Proverbs 16:9, Psalms 37:23
