Welcome to Empowered Bible Studies

Bible study is essential to our Christian walk. As we study God's Word, our personal relationship with God grows deeper and deeper. It empowers us to live for the Lord in every aspect of our lives. This is what has inspired me to do an online Bible study.

Many years ago my husband introduced me to a commentary on the book of Colossians and I was so blessed as the Scripture came to life before my very eyes. Since that day we have developed an extensive library and enjoy studying God's Word.

I have prepared some Bible studies that I would like to share with you. My prayer is that they will bless you as much as they have blessed me in preparing them. I pray your life is touched and that it would inspire you to live every moment of every day for Christ.

Thank you Lord

How many times have we taken God's blessings for granted? ... Luke 17:11-19 tells us about ten men who were lepers, when Christ came they cried out to be healed. We all cry out don't we for Christ to heal us to take away the adversities in our lives. Luke goes on to say in verse fourteen that Christ heard their cries and all ten men experienced Christ's healing power over their leprosy.

Then look what happens in verses fifteen and sixteen: Luke 17:15-16 'And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God, and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. And he was a Samaritan.'
Did you see that; it says One of them - not all of them or even half of them! One of them glorified God as he fell on his face at the feet of Christ giving Him thanks for healing him. Doesn't that make you sad when you read that? Here God heard their cries and answered them with healing; and yet they didn't give God the honor or glory for what He did for them - they took the blessing for granted. How many blessings has God given us that we haven't thanked Him for? What have we taken for granted?
What do you think Christ felt about their response - let's look at Luke 17:17-18 So Jesus answered and said, 'were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?' You can clearly see that this did not please Christ. He is saying where is the nine - not found returning to give glory to God. My friends, we do not want to be like these lepers! Their need had been met, they had all been healed and yet nine out of the ten didn't turn and give God the glory. We need to make sure we are aware of God's presence in our lives, and let Him know how much we appreciate Him and what He is doing in our lives
