Welcome to Empowered Bible Studies

Bible study is essential to our Christian walk. As we study God's Word, our personal relationship with God grows deeper and deeper. It empowers us to live for the Lord in every aspect of our lives. This is what has inspired me to do an online Bible study.

Many years ago my husband introduced me to a commentary on the book of Colossians and I was so blessed as the Scripture came to life before my very eyes. Since that day we have developed an extensive library and enjoy studying God's Word.

I have prepared some Bible studies that I would like to share with you. My prayer is that they will bless you as much as they have blessed me in preparing them. I pray your life is touched and that it would inspire you to live every moment of every day for Christ.

Gazing upon Jesus

What is your soul gazing upon? When you think of your soul gazing upon God – wow! To gaze means to fix the eyes in a steady intent look often with eagerness or studious attention. I want my soul to gaze upon Jesus!

Hebrews 12:2 talks about Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith ... 'looking' is in the Present Active Participle – it means we are to continually look unto Jesus. This is not a one-time act; it is to be a continual action. We are to continually fix our eyes in a steady intent look with eagerness and studious attention upon God.

The more we practice focusing on God and looking to God, the more it will become second nature to us. A.W. Tozer talked about a faith so rich and strong that our minds simply wander to thoughts of God whenever they wander.

My friend, Our Christian walk is not passive, we should be continually growing in our relationship with God. Salvation is not the end; it is the beginning to our pursuit of God. Continually look unto Jesus!
