Our Response to Adversity

Adversity hits in various ways for each of us. James 1:2 gives us instructions for When we face various trials, not If we face trials. We will all go through adversity, the question is, 'What is our response to adversity?'. Do we fall apart and turn our hearts from God becoming bitter and angry, or do we call upon our Heavenly Father to give us strength to endure knowing it will work out according to God's will? ~ Romans 8:28. In Scripture we read that Job lost everything as one adversity after another hit him, and yet he said Blessed be the name of the Lord. ~ Job 1:21. Corrie Ten Boom being sent to concentration camps watched as all her family died, but she never wavered, she continued to trust in God and Worshiped Him.

Are we ready to acknowledge that God has a sovereign plan for our lives and stop looking at the adversity but look to God for what He is doing in our lives? Are we ready to trust that God is working in our lives according to His plan for our life - through the bad times as well as the good times? Are we able, in the midst of adversity, to fall to our knees and worship God saying Blessed be the name of the Lord?

As Corrie Ten Boom said “There is no pit so deep that God’s love is not deeper still.”
My friend, God is with you through every adversity and is in control of every aspect of our lives. As we fully grasp this, we will be able to say with Job, 'Blessed be the name of the Lord' through every adversity no matter how big or small! Trust God
