When Jesus gets a hold of your heart, your life is transformed forever! We see in scripture the beautiful story of Christ's brothers being transformed.
We see in John 7:5 that even though his brothers saw the sinless life Jesus lead, they still didn't believe he was their Messiah ~ He was their half brother. (John 7:5 "For even His brothers did not believe in Him."). So what made the change? How did James go from an unbeliever to writing the book of James as a Jewish believer, believing in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior?
1 Corinthians 15:7 tells us that after Christ was resurrected from the dead he appeared to His brother James. Just imagine it, James saw Jesus in all of His Glory after the resurrection. It is believed that it was at this point that James accepted Jesus as His Savior. He saw his brother now as God. He saw him resurrected in all of His glory and now he believes in him.
Think about the transformation that took place in James’ heart. Not only was James transformed but we also see in Acts 1:13-14 that Jesus' brothers were also transformed as it is documented that they were all in the upper room praying.
Remember, James grew up with Jesus. He knew Him as 'Jesus his half brother'. But now he acknowledges His deity in James 1:1 by saying 'a bondservant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ'. He uses all three names: Lord Jesus Christ. He knew Him by the name Jesus growing up, but now he knows Him as Lord Jesus Christ! His master and Savior, His Messiah.
Thank you Lord Jesus Christ for transforming our lives!
Welcome to Empowered Bible Studies
Bible study is essential to our Christian walk. As we study God's Word, our personal relationship with God grows deeper and deeper. It empowers us to live for the Lord in every aspect of our lives. This is what has inspired me to do an online Bible study.
Many years ago my husband introduced me to a commentary on the book of Colossians and I was so blessed as the Scripture came to life before my very eyes. Since that day we have developed an extensive library and enjoy studying God's Word.
I have prepared some Bible studies that I would like to share with you. My prayer is that they will bless you as much as they have blessed me in preparing them. I pray your life is touched and that it would inspire you to live every moment of every day for Christ.
