We see The Apostle Paul asked Three times for God to take the thorn in his flesh away as we see in 2 Corinthians 12:8 'Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me.' then in verse 9 We see God's answer: But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.'
James also tells us in James 1:3 'knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.' each trial we go through makes our faith stronger and stronger.
Sometimes God's answer to our prayer is 'No', because He knows the future that He prepares for you. The comforting thing is as we see in 1 Corinthians 10:13 that God will not give us more than we can bear: 1Corinthians 10:13 'No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.'.
Job comes to mind too, as he was tested and lost everything from his health, his children, his wealth and more, but in the end said 'Blessed be the name of the Lord' he stated that he now knew God experientially instead of just a head knowledge. God did restore Job in the end after a long tough road. Hang in there my friend, God is with you just as He was with the Apostle Paul, and Job! Keep living for the Lord as He is with you carrying you though every obstacle.
This looks like my kids could definitely benefit from this. I'll have to get them included.
