Welcome to Empowered Bible Studies

Bible study is essential to our Christian walk. As we study God's Word, our personal relationship with God grows deeper and deeper. It empowers us to live for the Lord in every aspect of our lives. This is what has inspired me to do an online Bible study.

Many years ago my husband introduced me to a commentary on the book of Colossians and I was so blessed as the Scripture came to life before my very eyes. Since that day we have developed an extensive library and enjoy studying God's Word.

I have prepared some Bible studies that I would like to share with you. My prayer is that they will bless you as much as they have blessed me in preparing them. I pray your life is touched and that it would inspire you to live every moment of every day for Christ.

Resting in God's arms

It is easy to trust God when things are going good and God does bless us on those beautiful days, but it is through the dark storms of your life that we grow the most.

We see three important lessons to follow when we are in a storm from Matthew 14:27-33 where Peter and the disciples were in a storm on the sea and Christ appeared to them.

1. We need to seek the safety of God's arms. Peter was willing to leave the safety of the boat as he knew he would be safer in the arms of Christ.

2. We need to listen to God. ~ Romans 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Peter listened and stepped out of the boat where he walked on water as Christ said come.

3. We need to Lean on God. We cannot survive the storm on our own strength as we see with Peter. The minute Peter took his eyes off Christ he began to sink. Peter called out to Christ to save him and as verse 31 states, Christ immediately stretched out his hand to save him.

My friend, have courage during the storms in your life that Christ is there with you just as he was with Peter. Peter may have slipped in the water just as we may slip at times, but Christ will be there to pick us up as He was with Peter. We must Seek God, Listen to God, and Lean on God to survive the storm!
