Let us evaluate our lives as we look back on the last six months and see if we have grown spiritually. Did we give God our best or were we preoccupied with worldly things? Did we give our time - spending quality time with the Lord in Bible study and prayer? Were we aware of His presence in our daily lives?
We are Thankful for all the many blessings in our lives and the opportunities that The Lord gave us throughout this year to bring honor and glory to His name. Thankful for new beginnings, for answered prayers, for new additions to our family. Thankful for the strength that The Lord gave us as we went through various trials; thankful for a peace in our hearts through thick and thin, through tragedy, through struggles, through sadness and the loss of loved ones. We praise you Lord that you were with us every moment of a day, that we could be in you presence 24/7.
Let's make the next six months a time of spiritual growth, of pursuing a deeper relationship with God. Let us decrease and the Lord increase as we draw closer to Him.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. ~ Jeremiah 29:11-12
James 4:13-14 'Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit"; whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.'
My friend our plans are always tentative because we never know what God has in store for us. The Key is to keep God in our plans. We should say 'If it be the Lord's will we will do such and such.' James goes on to say that life is just a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. This is a perspective that all believers should have. This life, as we know it here on Earth, is just a temporary home. We never know when the Lord shall return; therefore, we should always live each day as unto the Lord. Don't leave God out of your plans, live for Him.
