Welcome to Empowered Bible Studies

Bible study is essential to our Christian walk. As we study God's Word, our personal relationship with God grows deeper and deeper. It empowers us to live for the Lord in every aspect of our lives. This is what has inspired me to do an online Bible study.

Many years ago my husband introduced me to a commentary on the book of Colossians and I was so blessed as the Scripture came to life before my very eyes. Since that day we have developed an extensive library and enjoy studying God's Word.

I have prepared some Bible studies that I would like to share with you. My prayer is that they will bless you as much as they have blessed me in preparing them. I pray your life is touched and that it would inspire you to live every moment of every day for Christ.

Learn it, Live it

As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct ~ 1 Peter 1:14-15

This call to obedience of God’s standard is a call to holiness. In its most fundamental element, holy means ―set apart. The believer no longer serves the world system into which he was born. As the Holy Spirit dwells in the believer, there is a natural displacement of this world’s influence which is replaced with the precepts of the Lord.

He goes on to say in 1 Peter 1:16 ―because it is written, "Be holy, for I am holy." Peter called upon believers' reverence for the Old Testament by referring to Leviticus 19:2, "Ye shall be holy: for I the Lord your God am holy." He says, "It is written" a statement that carries great authority for the believer.

Luke 4:4 ―But Jesus answered him, saying, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.'

The Word reveals God's mind, so we should learn it; God's heart, so we should love it; God's will, so we should live it. Our whole being—mind, will, and heart— should be controlled by the Word of God.

We do not study the Bible just to get to know the Bible, we study the Bible that we might get to know God better - As we study God's Word, our personal relationship with God grows deeper and deeper. It empowers us to live for the Lord in every aspect of our lives.
