This is where we pick up in Chapter three. We will see in this chapter the second crucial encounter between Ruth and Boaz. Let’s begin: Ruth 3:1 "Then Naomi her mother-in-law said to her, "My daughter, shall I not seek security for you, that it may be well with you?"
Here we see the love Naomi had for her daughter-in-law; notice she wanted to seek security for her that she would have a happy future. Naomi knew that Boaz was a kinsman who could satisfy the levirate law of marriage. She interpreted Boaz's kindness to Ruth as an indication of a favorable disposition on his part toward Ruth and possibly a willingness to do the kinsman's part. It was customary for Hebrew parents to arrange marriages for their children. So when Naomi's eyes were opened up to the fact that Boaz could be a kinsman-redeemer she immediately had hope and explained to her daughter-in-law the Jewish customs and what she needed to do accordingly.
We will continue our study on the book of Ruth next week. In the meantime, we are going to take a break and honor our Mother's this weekend for Mother's Day holiday. God bless
