Notice how Boaz and his workers greeted each other in the name of the Lord in Ruth 2:4 "Now behold, Boaz came from Bethlehem, and said to the reapers, "The LORD be with you!" And they answered him, "The LORD bless you!" This gives some indication of the character of Boaz, that he was a kind, godly man. He was an employer who respected his workers and had an excellent relationship with them. This is an example for all of us that even though we live in troubled times we can live godly lives in spite of circumstances around us.
Then, Boaz spotted Ruth in the field and asked who she was in Ruth 2:5-7. The servant answered "It is the young Moabite woman who came back with Naomi from the country of Moab.". Again we see the providence of God; the Lord led Ruth to the field of Boaz and then led Boaz to visit his field while Ruth was there.
We will see what happens next as Ruth and Boaz meet in our next post. Until then, have a blessed day.
