One of the problems with our world today as we see in Psalm 36:1 is that "there is no fear of God". Like Pharaoh, in Exodus 5:2 people are saying "Who is the Lord, that I should obey His voice?"
We see in Esther chapter nine that the Persians learned quickly as to whom the Lord was. Esther 9:5 shows that the Jews defeated all their enemies as God had fulfilled his promise.
My friend, when we face our enemy we also need to prepare. We can prepare and have a ready defense for the gospel. Unbelievers will seek to stop our witness, sometimes they will simply ridicule or mock us, but at other times they seek to persecute or even kill us.
So how do we prepare:
Every day we need to put on the armor of God: Ephesians 6:10-18
We must be ready to give an answer for the hope that is in us: 1 Peter 3:15
We must not hate our enemies but rather love them for the cause of Christ: Matthew 5:44
We must be in the Word of God daily and communicating with God daily living according to His will. In the end we should be able to say, as it says in 2 Timothy 4:7-8 "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."

It is only through the power of God that we will be able to defeat our enemies, just as the Jews found. The Jews were able to help save themselves from annihilation by preparing for the attacks of the enemy. If they had not prepared themselves, the Persian citizens who hated them would have tried to wipe them off the face of the earth. The Jews were prepared and because of it they won victoriously over their enemy.
God put Mordecai into his position as Prime Minister and he honored the Lord in his position and used his authority to do the will of God. We need to also make sure that we don’t take the positions God places us in for granted that we don't misuse our authority and that God is honored through our lives. When we live our lives according to the plan of God, those around us will see the power of God in our lives also.
