Welcome to Empowered Bible Studies

Bible study is essential to our Christian walk. As we study God's Word, our personal relationship with God grows deeper and deeper. It empowers us to live for the Lord in every aspect of our lives. This is what has inspired me to do an online Bible study.

Many years ago my husband introduced me to a commentary on the book of Colossians and I was so blessed as the Scripture came to life before my very eyes. Since that day we have developed an extensive library and enjoy studying God's Word.

I have prepared some Bible studies that I would like to share with you. My prayer is that they will bless you as much as they have blessed me in preparing them. I pray your life is touched and that it would inspire you to live every moment of every day for Christ.

Walking in Holiness

As we continue our study in 1 Peter 1 we see the emphasis is on walking in holiness in verses 13-21.
To walk in holiness is not easy because the world is constantly placing stumbling blocks in our way and trying to keep us from growing in our Christian walk. However, in this scripture, Peter presented five spiritual incentives to encourage us to maintain a holy walk:
1. The Glory of God (1 Peter 1:13)
2. The Holiness of God (1 Peter 1:14-15)
3. The Word of God (1 Pete 1:16)
4. The Judgment of God (1 Peter 1:17)
5. The Love of God (1 Peter 1:18-21)
Over the next few days we will examine each of these spiritual incentives. May The Lord bless you as you study His word. God bless
1 Peter 1:13-21 Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.” And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves throughout the time of your stay here in fear; knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. He indeed was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you who through Him believe in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.
