Welcome to Empowered Bible Studies

Bible study is essential to our Christian walk. As we study God's Word, our personal relationship with God grows deeper and deeper. It empowers us to live for the Lord in every aspect of our lives. This is what has inspired me to do an online Bible study.

Many years ago my husband introduced me to a commentary on the book of Colossians and I was so blessed as the Scripture came to life before my very eyes. Since that day we have developed an extensive library and enjoy studying God's Word.

I have prepared some Bible studies that I would like to share with you. My prayer is that they will bless you as much as they have blessed me in preparing them. I pray your life is touched and that it would inspire you to live every moment of every day for Christ.

Guard my mouth Lord

In our last post, Peter shows us four steps to loving and enjoying life. Let’s look at the first step as we open our bibles to 1 Peter 3:10 “For He who would love life and see good days, Let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips from speaking deceit.”
Notice Peter is commanding us to refrain our tongue from evil. My friend, we are personally responsible to stop our tongue from evil. Many of the problems of life are caused by the wrong words, spoken in the wrong spirit. 
Sometimes it is so hard to watch our tongue and the first thing that comes to my mind when I think of this is Psalm 141:3 “Set a guard, O LORD, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips."
With the Lord’s help my friend, we can watch our tongue. We need to pray Psalms 141:3 every day and ask God to help us.
