Proverbs 15:1 tells us 'A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.'
When you respond with a gentle answer, it disarms the situation; Whereas if you respond with harsh words, it only fuels the fire. Proverbs 16:24 'Pleasant words are a honeycomb, Sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.'
My friend, we need to say this prayer as David did in Psalm 141:3 'Set a guard, O LORD, over my mouth; Keep watch over the door of my lips.'
The next time before your anger can take control, recite these words in your mind: Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my rock and my Redeemer.
~ Psalm 19:14
After all, He hears everything you say.
