Welcome to Empowered Bible Studies

Bible study is essential to our Christian walk. As we study God's Word, our personal relationship with God grows deeper and deeper. It empowers us to live for the Lord in every aspect of our lives. This is what has inspired me to do an online Bible study.

Many years ago my husband introduced me to a commentary on the book of Colossians and I was so blessed as the Scripture came to life before my very eyes. Since that day we have developed an extensive library and enjoy studying God's Word.

I have prepared some Bible studies that I would like to share with you. My prayer is that they will bless you as much as they have blessed me in preparing them. I pray your life is touched and that it would inspire you to live every moment of every day for Christ.

Being Hospitable

Our Christian love should not only be fervent and forgiving, but it should also be hospitable without grumbling, that is without complaining.

Let's look at 1 Peter 4:9-10 “Be hospitable to one another without grumbling. ” Hospitality was essential for the early church. William Barclay points out that there were no church buildings until about two hundred years after Christ; Therefore, the early believers had to meet for worship in the homes of willing believers. Hospitality can be hard work: Some guests will be more difficult than others, and there may be times when it is more of a duty than a joy. In any case, Peter recommended that the believers not complain but serve their guests as though serving the Lord himself; Because when we share with others, we share with Christ. Matthew 25:35, 43. We should do it to glorify the Lord.
