Welcome to Empowered Bible Studies

Bible study is essential to our Christian walk. As we study God's Word, our personal relationship with God grows deeper and deeper. It empowers us to live for the Lord in every aspect of our lives. This is what has inspired me to do an online Bible study.

Many years ago my husband introduced me to a commentary on the book of Colossians and I was so blessed as the Scripture came to life before my very eyes. Since that day we have developed an extensive library and enjoy studying God's Word.

I have prepared some Bible studies that I would like to share with you. My prayer is that they will bless you as much as they have blessed me in preparing them. I pray your life is touched and that it would inspire you to live every moment of every day for Christ.

Walking with the Lord

1 Peter 5:2-3 "Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, serving as overseers, not by compulsion but willingly, not for dishonest gain but eagerly; nor as being lords over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock;"

Shepherding suggests provision and protection, supervision and discipline, instruction and direction. So here you have Peter describing Elders as Shepherds who are to tend their flock - the Church. Peter reminded the shepherd-elders of their God-given responsibilities. In order for a Pastor to shepherd the flock he needs to be personally walking with God and growing in his spiritual walk. If a pastor is growing spiritually, it will affect the flock around him. We grow by being in the Word of God, walking daily with God and obeying what the scripture says.

My friend, we too need to be moving forward in our Christian walk, as we grow it will also affect those around us. We need to cultivate a growing relationship with Jesus Christ, and share what we have learned with those around us. A faithful shepherd leads his sheep to green pastures so that they have nourishment. How important it is for pastors to lead their people into the green pastures of the Word of God so that they might feed themselves and grow. Friends, we need to make sure that we are not starving for the Word of God - we have no excuse - we have the very living Word of God in our hands - don't let it collect dust.
