Welcome to Empowered Bible Studies

Bible study is essential to our Christian walk. As we study God's Word, our personal relationship with God grows deeper and deeper. It empowers us to live for the Lord in every aspect of our lives. This is what has inspired me to do an online Bible study.

Many years ago my husband introduced me to a commentary on the book of Colossians and I was so blessed as the Scripture came to life before my very eyes. Since that day we have developed an extensive library and enjoy studying God's Word.

I have prepared some Bible studies that I would like to share with you. My prayer is that they will bless you as much as they have blessed me in preparing them. I pray your life is touched and that it would inspire you to live every moment of every day for Christ.

God directs our lives

The Lord brought Esther and Mordecai to the Persian kingdom for such a time as this; to save the Jewish people from annihilation.

You can feel the anguish and the compassion Esther has regarding the decree and the Jewish people as she speaks again to the king in Esther 8:3-6. This time scripture says she fell at his feet and implored him with tears, she is begging the king to save the Jewish people from annihilation.

My friend, we have seen how God has worked behind the scenes to place Esther and Mordecai in a position to be able to save the Jewish people. In Esther 8:1-2 we see that not only was Mordecai promoted by the King to take Haman's placed, but Esther also appoints him to be the steward or manager over Haman's vast estate.

We still have one problem, once a decree was signed by the king; it was law never to be revoked. In light of this fact and despite the tenderness of the king's heart toward Esther, he could not revoked the decree. How was he going to respond to his dear wife's broken heart and to her fearful request for mercy upon her people? We will look at the king's response to Esther in verses 7-8 in our next post. Until then, continually seek God's plan in your life as he directs your path and especially in these end times we need to remember to pray for Israel.
