Welcome to Empowered Bible Studies

Bible study is essential to our Christian walk. As we study God's Word, our personal relationship with God grows deeper and deeper. It empowers us to live for the Lord in every aspect of our lives. This is what has inspired me to do an online Bible study.

Many years ago my husband introduced me to a commentary on the book of Colossians and I was so blessed as the Scripture came to life before my very eyes. Since that day we have developed an extensive library and enjoy studying God's Word.

I have prepared some Bible studies that I would like to share with you. My prayer is that they will bless you as much as they have blessed me in preparing them. I pray your life is touched and that it would inspire you to live every moment of every day for Christ.

Cherish each day together

As we continue in 1 Peter 3:7 we come to the third area of responsibility that the husband has towards his wife: "... giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life,"
Christian husbands are to honor their wives. The word "honor" means to value; to esteem; to prize; to count as precious. Husbands are to honor their wives by loving and tenderly taking care of them. They are to look after and care for them with warmth and tenderness, treating them in the most precious of spirits and esteeming them ever so highly. Ephesians 5:25 "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her." Peter tells us that the husband is to honor his wife as the weaker vessel. The word vessel here was also used of Paul who is called "a chosen vessel" (Acts 9:15), a chosen instrument of God. The husband is to dwell with the wife, remembering that she is an instrument of God, a child of God to be used by Him to His glory.
The scripture goes on to say that the husband should pay due honor to the wife because she is a joint-heir together with him of the grace of life, eternal life, the gift of God. In God's eyes men and women are joint or equal heirs. Husbands are not to be a tyrant, they are not to be dominating or enslave their wives to serve them and to meet their needs and wants; They are to be understanding, loving, gentle, and considerate. He is to honor her as a fellow heir of life, of the wonderful grace and gift of life that God has given us all.
My friends, cherish each day together; live as unto the Lord showing respect for each other.
