Welcome to Empowered Bible Studies

Bible study is essential to our Christian walk. As we study God's Word, our personal relationship with God grows deeper and deeper. It empowers us to live for the Lord in every aspect of our lives. This is what has inspired me to do an online Bible study.

Many years ago my husband introduced me to a commentary on the book of Colossians and I was so blessed as the Scripture came to life before my very eyes. Since that day we have developed an extensive library and enjoy studying God's Word.

I have prepared some Bible studies that I would like to share with you. My prayer is that they will bless you as much as they have blessed me in preparing them. I pray your life is touched and that it would inspire you to live every moment of every day for Christ.

Living in obedience

Let us look now at the final part of 1 Peter 3:7 "...that your prayers may not be hindered."
This is so vital to understand; The scripture says here that the husband's prayers will be hindered if he does not honor his wife. The word "hindered" in the Greek text means literally "to cut in, to interrupt". My friend, this is serious, Prayers can be hindered - cut in - interrupted. Ladies, We need to make sure that we are not causing the dissension in the household that causes our husband not to honor us. I have heard women say that they know just what button to push to make their husband upset. We need to be honoring our husband and being that helpmate that helps him be the best godly husband he can be. When we join together with our mates to live according to His will, when we study the word of God together, pray together, openly honor each other and build each other up, we will have happy homes.
As a Christian husband and wife we are heirs together. If we as wives submit to our husbands and our husbands submit to us and together we submit to Jesus Christ and follow His example, then we will have an enriching experience together. We will grow together instead of apart.
No matter what your marital status is, there is always something we can learn in scripture, even if it seems to be dealing with marriage. We as children of God need to submit to Jesus Christ. We need to live a life that is pleasing to Him. Do we lift people up or are we tearing them down?
Do we show compassion and understanding to those around us? Are we sensitive to each other's feelings? Remember no one is better than anyone else. We are all heirs to Jesus Christ.
Pray for those around you. Be in the word of God daily. Build one another up instead of looking out for number one. Show respect to those around you that God will be glorified. Take inventory of your life and ask God to reveal to you where you can improve. We all can improve. Both husband and wife must love one another and live as God says to live, both fulfilling their duty to one another. Submission does not weaken or diminish the believer's strength. In fact, the opposite is true. The more submissive one is to the Lord God and His ordained order, the more strength God provides for the tasks and adversities faced. True power and strength is found in an obedient life that yields to the influence of the Holy Spirit
