Let's continue to read Ruth 3:3-4: “Therefore wash yourself and anoint yourself, put on your best garment and go down to the threshing floor; but do not make yourself known to the man until he has finished eating and drinking. Then it shall be, when he lies down, that you shall notice the place where he lies; and you shall go in, uncover his feet, and lie down; and he will tell you what you should do."
Notice here that Naomi instructed Ruth to go to the threshing floor and quietly observe where Boaz laid down after he had eaten and drank. Then she was to uncover his feet and lie down, then wait for instructions from Boaz as to what to do next. This was a symbol of service and of servanthood, a symbolic request for marriage. By this symbol Ruth was declaring that she wanted to become a part of Boaz’s life.
My friend, we also, if we want a deep personal relationship with Christ, need to submit ourselves totally to Christ making Him Lord of our lives. We need to humbly come to the foot of the Cross where our Redeemer paid the price to rescue us.
