We have now reached a part of our study that is very dear to my heart; Submission in the life of a believer between marriage partners; 1 Peter 3:1-7.
The subject matter in this scripture does not always apply to everyone, but as we look through these verses we are going to give some other options so that we can all apply these principles to our lives. Such attitudes as submission, understanding, love, kindness, and patience are not manufactured; they are the fruit of the Spirit that comes when we are submitted to Christ and to one another. As Christian marriage partners we need to be in God's Word together as well as having our own study times, we need to be praying with each other as well as our own personal prayer time - remember we are to be constantly praying, and we should be seeking to encourage each other in the faith. We don't need to be tearing each other down. *This principle can go for all of us no matter what our marital status is - we should all be seeking to encourage each other and building each other up rather than tearing each other down, right. I am truly blessed to have such a wonderful God fearing husband who has always sought to build me up whether it be physically or spiritually. My friend, headship is not dictatorship, but the loving exercise of divine authority under the lordship of Jesus Christ. I look forward to exploring these verses with you over the next few posts. God bless
