Welcome to Empowered Bible Studies

Bible study is essential to our Christian walk. As we study God's Word, our personal relationship with God grows deeper and deeper. It empowers us to live for the Lord in every aspect of our lives. This is what has inspired me to do an online Bible study.

Many years ago my husband introduced me to a commentary on the book of Colossians and I was so blessed as the Scripture came to life before my very eyes. Since that day we have developed an extensive library and enjoy studying God's Word.

I have prepared some Bible studies that I would like to share with you. My prayer is that they will bless you as much as they have blessed me in preparing them. I pray your life is touched and that it would inspire you to live every moment of every day for Christ.

Keep Focus on God

In our last post, Naomi was mourning the death of her husband and had the choice to raise her two sons in the heathen land of Moab or go back to Bethlehem.  As we see in Ruth 1:4, Naomi chose to raise her sons in Moab and lived there for ten years where they met and married Moabite women, Orpah and Ruth.

Unfortunately, the marriage of Naomi’s sons to the Moabite women was in direct disobedience to God as God had forbidden His people to intermarry with unbelievers.  The choices they made had grave consequences as we see in Ruth 1:5; both Mahlon and Chilion died.

This was a horrific crisis, one of hopelessness and despair.  I can only imagine the grief these three women went through.  Sometimes we feel as if we are at the end of our rope, but God is our Hope.

My dear friends, the choices we make have consequences, but we can find peace knowing God is with us giving us that ray of hope even when life seems to be crashing down around us.  Keep your focus on God and not the circumstances around you.

Until our next post on the study of Ruth, have a blessed day.
