Welcome to Empowered Bible Studies

Bible study is essential to our Christian walk. As we study God's Word, our personal relationship with God grows deeper and deeper. It empowers us to live for the Lord in every aspect of our lives. This is what has inspired me to do an online Bible study.

Many years ago my husband introduced me to a commentary on the book of Colossians and I was so blessed as the Scripture came to life before my very eyes. Since that day we have developed an extensive library and enjoy studying God's Word.

I have prepared some Bible studies that I would like to share with you. My prayer is that they will bless you as much as they have blessed me in preparing them. I pray your life is touched and that it would inspire you to live every moment of every day for Christ.

Totally Devoted

We all come to crossroads in our lives where we have to make life altering choices.  In our Study of Ruth 1:8-17 we get a glimpse of an emotional conversation between Naomi and her daughters-in-law as they started their journey to Israel.

Ultimately Orpah kissed her Mother-in-law goodbye as she made the decision to go back to her  people and her gods in Moab.  (Ruth 1:14-15)

Ruth on the other hand followed her Mother-in-law’s selfless example as she was willing to give up the possibility of security and children in order to care for Naomi. She showed an undying sense of devotion in verses sixteen through seventeen. Ruth loved Naomi and clung to her as we see in verse fourteen. She was totally devoted to Naomi and insisted that she stop urging her to leave, that she would go wherever she went and stay wherever she stayed. Her devotion compelled her to remain by Naomi’s side never leaving her. We see in verse sixteen that she made a strong commitment to God and to the Israelites – by this she was renouncing her Moabite roots, the world of unbelievers and false worshipers. Ruth declared, in verse seventeen, that her commitment was until death; it was total, final, and unshakable.

My friend, Ruth's total commitment is a strong example for us all.  She was not indecisive or neutral; neither can we be. Just as she made a total commitment to God and His people, we must be totally and wholeheartedly committed to Jesus Christ. Let us say to the Lord, "I will go where you want me to go and I will live a totally devoted life to you Lord".
